Today Admiral William Fallon, the commander of U.S. Central Command, spoke to us here. It was pretty interesting, becuase I've never been in the room when someone of so much importance made and address. He spoke to us for over an hour about the CENTCOM mission, his vission, and the key points to making it happen. I was in the forth row, so I was really glad that I was wide awake--but the Colonel beside me wasn't! I kept "accidentally" fidgeting and bumping him so he wouldn't get noticed and busted out. Unfortunately someone's cell phone went off, and I would sure hate to have been that dude.
This evening we took Craner out to Chilli's on base to send her off, as she's going back to Tampa. Funny, I''ve been here for seven months and this was the first time I'd eaten at the restaurant on base. Then when I got there, I saw a group of the PSD guys that drove us around while we were in Iraq! They are here on their 4-day pass.
I'm going to post some more random pictures from Iraq. Sometime I'll hopefully get organized enough to put something nice together about what I saw and learned. Someday.
